๐น Song No. 1: The “B” Song ๐ถ
The starting point of our musical journey is the note B. It is a fundamental note because it allows you to focus right away on your hand position and the keyboard.
1. Where is it on the Staff? ๐ผ
The note B is located exactly on the 3rd line (the middle line). When you see a notehead on that line, you know you have to play a B!
2. How do you play it on the Keyboard? ๐

To play B correctly on the keyboard:
- Find the note: Look for the group of three black keys. B is the white key located immediately to the right of the last of the three black keys. ๐น
- Fingering: Place your fingertip gently on the key, keeping your hand “dome-shaped” (as if holding an invisible ball). Your wrist must be soft and relaxed.
3. Listen and Check ๐
After placing your finger, press the key with a firm but gentle pressure.
- The sound: It must be clean and steady. Hold the key down for the full duration of the note shown on the sheet music. ๐ถ
- Check: If there is no sound or it cuts off, check that you are pressing the key all the way down. Remember: no need to hit it hard, just a smooth finger movement! โก
๐ THE REPEAT SIGN: Let’s Start Again! ๐ถ
This magical sign tells you to go back and repeat the music enclosed between its dots. โชโจ
- ๐ Between the dots: Only repeat the section enclosed between the opening and closing symbols.
|: โฆ :|๐๐ - ๐ From the beginning: If you only find the closing dots
:||, start playing directly from the very beginning! ๐
Keep your eyes on the sheet music and get ready for the encore! ๐น๐

๐น Song No. 2: Here Comes C! ๐ถ
After getting familiar with B, it’s time to discover a new sound: high C. ๐น
1. Where is it on the Staff? ๐ผ
Unlike B, which sits on a line, C is located in the 3rd space of the staff (counting from the bottom). It’s a note that “lives” comfortably right between the third and fourth lines!
2. How do you play it on the Keyboard? ๐

Finding high C on the keyboard is super easy if you follow these steps:
- Find the note: C is located immediately to the right of B (the note we learned in Song 1). It is the white key that “hugs” the beginning of the next group of black keys. ๐น
- Check: Make sure your finger is relaxed and ready to press the key precisely. Compare your hand position with the fingering diagram in the manual.
3. The Rhythm: The Whole Note (4 Beats) โณ
In this song, we will use the Whole Note ๐ (the “empty” note without a stem):
- Play for 4: When you see this note, press the key down and hold it gently while mentally counting “1 โ 2 โ 3 โ 4”. ๐น
- Silence for 4: When you encounter a whole rest (the small rectangle hanging below the fourth line), stay silent and lift your finger while counting “1 โ 2 โ 3 โ 4”. ๐
๐ก OkMusic Tip:
Try moving from B (Song 1) to C (Song 2) by alternating your fingers as if they were walking on the keyboard. Listen closely to how C sounds slightly higher (shorter pitch) than B! ๐ผโจ

๐น Song No. 3: The Dialogue Between B and C ๐ถ
In this activity, you will practice everything you learned in the first two songs. It’s time to make your instrument “talk” by alternating between B and C. ๐น
1. Alternating Notes ๐
The song will ask you to transition from one note to another smoothly. Remember the “walking” rule for your right hand on the keyboard:
- Attention: While one finger presses down, the other lifts up slightly. Keep your hand soft and “dome-shaped” over the keys.
2. Rhythm โณ
The main character here is still the Whole Note ๐ (the empty note):
- Each note and each rest lasts for 4 beats. โณ
- Use the rest: When you encounter the rectangle (4-beat rest), take advantage of it to relax your hand, position your finger for the next note, and stay calm. ๐จ
3. The Goal: Smoothness โจ
No need to rush! The goal is not speed, but achieving a clean transition with no interruptions between the two notes.
- Listen to the sound: It must be smooth and even. Try not to create uneven “steps” or accidental pauses when moving from B to C.
๐ก OkMusic Tip:
Before playing with the backing track, try Phase 2 of the method: say the note names out loud in time with the beat (“B โ 2 โ 3 โ 4 | rest โ 2 โ 3 โ 4 | C โ 2 โ 3 โ 4…”). If you can say it in rhythm, you will play it perfectly! ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ถ

โ๏ธ STAFF CHALLENGE โ Mission B & C! ๐ผ๐จ
Test your eyes and your hand! ๐๏ธ After making your instrument sing, it’s time to become a true music scribe with this written exercise. ๐๏ธ๐
Knowing how to read and write notes is the superpower that lets you decode every melody in the world! ๐๐ On this worksheet, we will focus on the first two queens of the right hand: B and high C.
Your creative mission: ๐ฏ๐๏ธ
- ๐ Draw the Notes: Place B on the 3rd line and C in the 3rd space. Millimeter precision! ๐๐ผ
- ๐ท๏ธ Quick Recognition: Look at the notes already written and write their names underneath. Will you be faster than a computer? ๐ปโก
Grab your black pen, warm up your hand, and show us that the staff holds no secrets from you! Great job, little master! ๐จโ๐จ๐ฉโ๐จ๐ถ
– Use the black pen to copy, in the empty measures, the same notes proposed in the previous measure and write their name –

๐น๏ธ HEAD-TO-HEAD CHALLENGE: The B and C Duel! ๐๐ถ
Are you ready for a speed challenge? โฑ๏ธ In this interactive game, there are only two main characters: B and high C! ๐ผ๐ It sounds easy, but can you avoid getting confused? ๐ฅ
- โก Quick Reflexes: Watch the note appear on the screen and decide in a flash: is it a B or a C? ๐ง ๐จ
Have fun and may the fastest musician win! ๐๐
๐น Song No. 4: The Rhythm is Halved! ๐ถ
In this activity, we will smooth out our B and C playing, but with a big update that will change how you read sheet music. Get ready to speed up your finger touch! ๐นโก
1. The New Figure: The Half Note ๐
Up until now, we have used the 4-beat Whole Note. Now, the Half Note joins the game:
- The Half Note: Lasts for 2 beats. The sound is shorter, so you will need to be quicker at controlling the key.
- The Half Rest: Lasts for 2 beats of silence. ๐คซ
2. Keep an Eye on the Symbols! (Whole Rest vs. Half Rest) ๐ง
Don’t mix them up! They look very similar, but they sit in different places on the staff:
- ๐ฉ๐ Whole Rest (4 beats): A small rectangle “hanging” below the 4th line (it looks like an upside-down hat).
- ๐ฉ๐ Half Rest (2 beats): A small rectangle resting on top of the 3rd line (it looks like a right-side-up hat).
3. Attention for Song No. 4: No Repeat! ๐ซ๐
Unlike the previous songs, you won’t find the two dots of the repeat sign (:|) here.
- You will play the sheet music from beginning to end only once. ๐
- Maximum concentration: Once the last note and the last rest are done, the song is finished! ๐
๐ก OkMusic Tip:
In Phase 2 of the method (reading), when you name the Half Notes, count like this: “B โ two, C โ two”. This will help you keep a steady pace and give each note (and each finger) its correct space of 2 beats. ๐๏ธโฑ๏ธ

๐น Song No. 5: Become a Wizard of the Half Note! ๐ถ
Welcome to the fifth step of the OkMusic method! ๐
Before exploring new territories on the keyboard ๐น, it is essential to stop for a moment and become a true champion with the notes you have already studied. Song No. 5 is your “musical gym” ๐๏ธโโ๏ธ to strengthen your visual memory and the precision of your performance.
๐ผ Lesson Elements: Mastering the Basics
In this song, we won’t add new notes, but we will train your ability to play with confidence and naturalness:
- Fingering and Hand Posture ๐๏ธ: Technique is everything! Keep your hands “dome-shaped”, as if holding an invisible ball ๐พ. Use the correct fingers (1-2-3-4-5) for each note: this will allow you to move agilely across the keyboard without crossing your fingers incorrectly.
- Active Review and Coordination ๐ง ๐ถ: We will test your speed in recognizing the notes studied so far. Are you sure you can transition from one key to another without hesitation? ๐๐จ Try to keep your eyes on the sheet music and not on your fingers: trust your “mental map” of the keys!
- Touch Precision ๐จ๐ต: Every note must have its own voice! Press the keys firmly but without stiffening your wrist. Focus on lifting your finger only when it is time to play the next note, to achieve a clean and connected (legato) sound, avoiding blending the sounds together. ๐ผโจ

6 ๐ Reaching the Sky with the Note D!
Welcome to the realm of high D! This note has a brilliant sound and sits high up on the staff. ๐
1. Where is it on the Staff? ๐ผ
The note D is located exactly on the 4th line (counting from the bottom). It is one step above the C we just learned!
2. How do you play it on the Keyboard? ๐

Attention, there is an important update for your hand here! For high D:
- Find the note: D is located immediately to the right of the note C. It is the white key found in the middle of the next group of two black keys. ๐น
- Compare with the image: Make sure to press the key firmly but without stiffening your hand. Always maintain the “dome shape”!
3. Listen to the Difference ๐
High D is a crystal-clear note:
- The sound: It must be sharp and ringing. โจ
- Coordination: Make sure to press the key exactly when the note is supposed to start. If the sound is delayed, check that your pinky finger is pressing the key all the way down!
๐ก OkMusic Tip:
The transition from C to D is an excellent agility exercise for your fingers. Try moving them alternately without lifting your hand too much from the keyboard. You will instantly hear how the “color” of the sound changes as you go higher! ๐น๐ต
